Indian Biographies
Biographies are a good source of information on our ancestors. They can
be used as a tool to provide names, dates and location of your ancestor.
However, we should never except this as the true information on your family
line. We need to take into consideration who wrote the information, who
provided the information, when it was written and where it was written.
Starting with where it was written, you
may be able to use a census record, a birth
or death record, family bible, or a
living family member for your research.
All I am saying is prove what the biography
states.
Indian biographies are difficult to prove
as they were usually written by a complete
stranger, based on long told facts.
Many of the Indian biographies are on well
known chiefs and are not the person you are
searching for.
We have put a great number of books
online and I have gone through each of these
and provided links to this information.
You will find duplicate names, but the
biography will be from a different source.
