While we know our northern friends may not feel it, in the South, Spring is
here. So we thought we'd share a few of our gardening sites appropriate
for this time of the year. Along with gardening, there's grilling, and getting
ready to diet so that you can fit back into that bathing suit this summer!
Many tribes have sub-tribes, bands, gens,
clans and phratry. Often very little
information is known or they no longer
exist. We have included them here to
provide more information about the tribes.
Chakankni. A
Molala band formerly settled in the Cascade range, N. w. of upper Klamath
lake, on the headwaters of Rogue r., Greg. In 1881 they were rapidly becoming
absorbed by the neighboring tribes and had practically given up their own
language for that of the Klamath. (L. F.)
