While we know our northern friends may not feel it, in the South, Spring is
here. So we thought we'd share a few of our gardening sites appropriate
for this time of the year. Along with gardening, there's grilling, and getting
ready to diet so that you can fit back into that bathing suit this summer!
Many tribes have sub-tribes, bands, gens,
clans and phratry. Often very little
information is known or they no longer
exist. We have included them here to
provide more information about the tribes.
Chedtokhanye (big buffalo bull). A subgens of the
Arukhwa, the Buffalo gens of the Iowa.
Chedtoyine (young buffalo bull). A subgens of the
Arukhwa, the Buffalo gens of the Iowa.
Cheghita. An Iowa gens. Its sub gentes are Nachiche,
Khrahune, Khrakreye, and Khrapathan.
Cheposhkeyine (swelled young buffalo bull). A subgens
of the Arukhwa, the Buffalo gens of the Iowa.
Cheyinye (buffalo calf). A subgens of the Arukhwa, the
Buffalo gens of the Iowa.
Homayine (Ho′ma
yiñ′-e, 'young elk'). A subgens of the
Khotachi, the Elk gens of the Iowa. Dorsey in 15th Rep. B. A. E., 238, 1897.
Hotachi (elk). A Missouri gens, coordinate with the
Khotachi gens of the Iowa.
