This is the Index of Cherokees, Choctaw, Chickasaw and Creek found on microfilm M1650 obtained from the National Archives in Fort Worth, Texas. If your ancestor was on the 1896 Cherokee Census they probably will NOT be on this index. This is NOT the 1896 CENSUS. It is an index of people who were NOT recognized by the Cherokee Tribe and subsequently made application to be considered for citizenship.

On the 54 rolls of this microfilm publication, M1650, are reproduced applications for enrollment of the Five Civilized Tribes under the act of June 10, 1896. These applications, housed in the National Archives-southwest Region, Fort Worth, Texas, were maintained by the Muskogee Area Office and are part of the Records of the Bureau of Indian Affairs, Record Group 75.

I have a copy of an article written about her which is really interesting & has lots of details of her life as told by her. Otherwise I have learned nothing new at this point. It’s frustrating!
Yeah it is frustrating. She ls on 5 or 6 census as mulatto, indian. I’ve called the seminole tribe in Oklahoma but they didn’t help me out

Im doing research on my GGGG Grandmother. Her name is Listed as Amy Perryman, Ama Indian, Amy Perman. She was born in 1820 in Florida. She was in the Trail of Tears. He husband (known name) died while fighting with Osceola. She was married to Richard Gardner and Chief Wildcat was in attendance which is publicized in a newspaper. It is said that she died around 1899 or so in Mason, TX. I don’t know her Indian name, I believe she was either Seminole or Creek. She was a first cousin to Osceola as well.
She is listed as being Mulatto and Quadroon and Indian in Census reports

I know it has been over a year but I am having the same issue finding out any information.
Yeah I’ve got alot of information on her but have not been able to find her real indian name. She went by Amy, Big Amy and many other names. She was in the frontier times in 1910. Any help is appreciated. She wrote letters to governor brown in 1898 to get back in the seminole tribe. I have the paper also
