Dear Sir:

     Receipt is hereby acknowledged to joint affidavit of W. A. Lingle and N. M. Mathews in regard to the marriage of Benjamin F. Davis and Mary Ann Varner.  Also letter of John D. Evans and J. P. Henderson with reference thereto, which are offered for filing in support of the application of Benjamin F. Davis for the identification of himself and minor children as Mississippi Choctaws.

     The same have been filed and made a part of the record in this case.

Dear Sir,

     The Commission is in receipt of marriage license and certificate between B.

F. Davis and Miss M. E. Gibbs, which you offer for filing in support of your application for identification of yourself and children as Mississippi Choctaws.  The same has been duly filed with the other records in this case.

Dear Sir:

     Receipt is hereby acknowledged of your letter of October 8, 1901, in which you state that you find the name of Paul Davis appears on the roll signed P. Davis, and that you can make proof that he,  (Paul Davis) invariably signed his name P. Davis, and that if the commission thinks necessary you can make such proof at once.

     In reply to your letter you are advised that it appears from our records that on June 12, 1901 Henry H. Davis appeared before the Commission at Atoka, Indian Territory, and applied for the identification of himself and four minor children as Mississippi Choctaws.

     If you wish to offer any further evidence in support of your application, you will be permitted to do so, and the same will be made a part of the record in your case.
