Death Claims George A. Conrad

George Arthur Conrad, 81 years of age and a pioneer resident of Flora, passed away at Hermiston on February 25, 1954. He had been in poor health for the past year.

George was the son of Mr. And Mrs. J.C. Conrad and was born in Perry County, Missouri, August 29, 1873. He moved west with his parents in 1889 and they settled at Flora.

In 1896 he was married to Nancy Agries Evans. To this union nine children were born, seven boys and 2 girls: Paul and Floyd of Hermiston, Arthur of LaGrande, Mark of Enterprise, Wallace of Angel Camp, Calif., John of Homedale, Idaho, Bob of Union, Mrs. Bruce Lockhart (Lillie) of Angel Camp, Calif., and Mrs. Arthur Michael (Mary) of Homedale, Idaho survive.

Mrs. Conrad passed away in August of 1912. He then married Susan Strong, who passed away in January 1934. For the last twenty years he and his sister, Mrs. Sally Anson made their home at Hermiston. Services and burial were at Hermiston.
