Biographical Sketch of Samuel W. Buzzard

Samuel W. Buzzard was born in Harrison county, Missouri, September 10, 1859. He is the son of Andrew L. Buzzard, whose biography appears in this work. Our subject removed with his parents to Daviess county at the age of four years and has resided here ever since. He completed his education at the State University, at Columbia, and in 1877 entered the bank as clerk. Two years later he was promoted to the position of cashier and has since discharged the duties of that responsible office with entire satisfaction to all the patrons of the bank.

Mr. Buzzard was married in Jamesport, February 20,. 1881, to Miss Phila, daughter of Abraham Benjamine, a native of Pennsylvania. Mrs. Buzzard was born in the State of Iowa, April 15, 1865. They are the parents of one child, Leonora.

Mr. Buzzard is a member of Jamesport Lodge No. 201, A. F. & A. M., and is also a member of the I. O. O. F.

He is a capable and trustworthy business man, and one whose future is promising.
