(See Ward)-—Catherine O. Chandler, born at Siloam, Ar­kansas, January 26, 1873 amid educated at Vinita. Married at Vinita, January 18, 1801 George Washington, son of William H. and Sarah Jane Poplin, born December 10, 1872 in Stodard County, Missouri. They are the parents of Anna Jane, born November 23, 1891; Ora Adelia, born March 18, 1893; Gaithor Oliver, born July 23, 1895; Marguerite, born October 9, 1897; Rosebud, born September 24, 1899; Nellie, born March 29, 1902; Van and Nan, twins, born April 16, 1906; Loren Ross, born June 11. 1908 and Ray Poplin, born December 20, 1910. Gaithor Oliver Poplin enlisted in the World War at Pryor, September 22, 1917. Was made Corporal Company A, 344th M.G. B. N. Promoted to Sergeant October 1. 1918. Was in the offensive at Villa en Haye August 24 to September 11, 1918 and St. Mihiel, Preverenville, Meuse, Argonne and Breussey from Sept 12 to November 11, 191 8. He was gassed on September 1 7, 1918 at St. Mihiel. Was in the Army of Occupation at Gillenifeld, Germany from December 19, 1918 to May 19, 1919. Sailed for America May 28,1918 and was discharged at Camp Pike, Arkansas, June 23, 1919. George W. Poplin is a bridge carpenter for the M. K. & T. F. F. with headquarters at Adam. Mrs. Poplin is a sister of Congressman Chandler of the First District of Oklahoma. (See Ward).—Lulu Brown, born near Pryor, December 10, 1881, educated at Pryor. Married at Adam. January 22, 1900 George Southerland. They were the parents of Sequoyah Vann born June 16, 1901; Mary Helen, born January 27, 1904, and Maurine Southerland, born August 3, 1908. Mrs. Luhu Southerland married July 21, 1908 Marvin, son of John and Many Odle, born April 5, 1885 in Henry County, Missouri. They are the parents of: Alma Beatrice, born March 11, 1911; Charles Eugenic, born June 18, 1913 and Virginia Lee Odle, born October 25, 1917. Mr. Odle is farming near Pryor. Charles Ward married Rutt Hollingsworth. Their daughter Mary Adeline Ward married Joseph Brown and they were the parents of Charles Brown, born in Texas, March 12, 1854. Alderson, Fay L. Harris Mrs. – Obituary

Baker City, Baker County, Oregon Fay L. Alderson, 95, a long time resident of Baker City, died Saturday, Aug. 20, 2005, at St. Elizabeth Health Services. Graveside services for Mrs. Alderson will be held Thursday, Aug. 25, 2005, at 2:30 p.m. at Mt. Hope Cemetery. Pastor Tony Brandon of the Seventh-day Adventist Church will officiate. Interment will follow the services. Visitation will be held Wednesday from noon until 7:00 p.m. at Coles Funeral Home, 1950 Place St. in Baker City. Mrs. Alderson was born October 3, 1909, in Optima, Okla., a daughter of Jeptha and Laura (Hizer) Harris. She came to Baker City in 1936. Mrs. Alderson worked for 20 years as a silk and wool finisher at the cleaners in Baker City and nine years at St. Elizabeth Nursing Home in the sewing room. She enjoyed her yard. Mrs. Alderson is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Laura Ellen and Herman Gibbs of Salem; sons and daughter-in-laws, William H. and Doris Alderson of Baker City, and James and Louise Alderson of Milwaukee; sister, Opal Harris, of Austin, Texas; seven grandchildren; and also great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Her parents, four brothers and two sisters preceded her in death.
