Biography of Finis Waldo Ewing, M. D.

Dr. Finis Waldo Ewing, engaged in the practice of medicine and surgery in Muskogee since 1915, his ability in his chosen calling being widely recognized, was born in Missouri, January 10, 1876, and is a son of Dr. Lee D. and Bettie (Harris) Ewing. At the usual age he became a public school pupil and having mastered the regular branches of the public school curriculum and had one year of university preparation, he went to Baltimore, Maryland, where he entered the Baltimore University in preparation for a professional career. He won his M. D. degree upon graduation with the class of 1905 and first located for practice at Terror, Oklahoma. Subsequently he was in Washington, D. C., where he was connected with the United States public health service for a time. In 1915 he came to Muskogee, where he has remained, here devoting his attention to the general practice of medicine and surgery. His labors have brought him continued success and in this field he has demonstrated his ability to cope with many intricate and involved problems, while at all times he has manifested the keenest interest in everything that tends to bring to man the key to the complex mystery which we call life. He has also figured prominently in public connection as a representative of the medical profession, for he has served as city health officer and as county health officer.
