B. F. Dow, merchant, was born in the State of Maine, January 13, 1845. Removed to Wisconsin in November 1853. Enlisted in the Union army February 22, 1864, in Company K, Fourth Wisconsin Cavalry; discharged June 26, 1866. After he returned to Wisconsin, came to Jewell County, Kan., in September 1871, and took a homestead.
