S. PLATOWSKY was born February 14, 1847, in Bohemia. In 1869 he came to St. Louis, where he remained about six months, after which he removed to Tennessee, where he remained till 1871; he then came to Guthrie, and carried on the photographing business one year. In 1872 he opened a store, with a stock of about $50. By strict attention to business his trade has rapidly increased, and he now carries a stock of about $12,000. He also owns this store and residence, valued at about $3,000. This is the oldest business house in Guthrie. He was married December 27, 1871, to Miss L. C. Halscel. She was born in Todd County. This union has been blessed with four children-three daughters and one son.
