Thomas, Bruce L. – Obituary

Funeral services for Bruce L. Thomas, 88, will be conducted at 1:30 Tuesday, September 19 at Langrell Mortuary Chapel.

The Rev. Clarence Kopp of the Episcopal Church will officiate. Interment will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery.

Mr. Bruce Thomas was born July 27, 1879 at Swan County, Illinois. He spent his young life in the northern part of Nebraska, and came to Oregon in 1902. He was engaged in mining and milling for some time. He was employed by the Old Eastern Oregon Light and Power Co. for 29 years, retiring at the age of 65 years. He was employed by Basche-Sage Hardware Co. for 16 years, retiring at the age of 82. He was married to Etta L. Langrell on May 29, 1904 in Baker, Oregon. He was preceded in death by a son F. Ross Thomas.

He is survived by his wife Etta Thomas of Baker, son, Ed Thomas of Baker, and Richard W. Thomas of Lewiston, Idaho; brother Hubert Thomas of Weiser, Idaho, Sister Mrs. Reua Gilger of Spokane, Washington, three grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

He was a member of St. Stephens Episcopal Church of Baker.

Those who wish may call at the Chapel before noon Tuesday as the casket will not be opened at the service.
