The new kid on the block, FootNote is known for digitizing historical
documents... many of which are genealogical gems. With naturalizations,
city directories, war records, newspapers, town records, etc... this new
kid is quickly being recognized as an alternative to Ancestry.
While we know our northern friends may not feel it, in the South, Spring is
here. So we thought we'd share a few of our gardening sites appropriate
for this time of the year. Along with gardening, there's grilling, and getting
ready to diet so that you can fit back into that bathing suit this summer!
In general appearance and in topography, Blue Mound is not
unlike Martin. It has no timber-land, however, and
the little streams or runs which run across it to the northeast toward the
Mackinaw. and to the southwest, into Money Creek,
are deeper cut, and show pebbly bottoms not common in this prairie country.
Township 24 north, Range 4 cast of the Third Principal Meridian, is a full
Congressional township, and is in the centre of the eastern part of the
county, being in the third tier of towns respectively from the north, east
and south lines of the county, and the third east from the Illinois Central
Railroad.
