Curran, John Paul – Obituary

John Paul Curran, 85, of Enterprise died Dec. 16 at a care center. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Katherine’s Catholic Church at 11 a.m. Wednesday with Father Peter Fernando officiating. Burial will be in the Enterprise Cemetery.

Mr. Curran was born Aug. 19, 1920, to Richard and Madeline Dumas Curran in Chicago, Ill. He served in the Marines Corps during World War II, and worked as a truck driver for many years.

He was a member of the VFW and served as a commander.

Survivors include a daughter, and her husband, Linda and Steve Testerman of Enterprise; a sister, Nanette Wazniak of California; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. His wife, Katherine, and a son, Michael, died earlier.

John Paul Curran of Enterprise died Dec. 16, 2005, at the Wallowa Valley Care Center in Enterprise of natural causes. He was 85 years old.

Mr. Curran was born Aug. 19,1920 in Chicago, Ill., to Richard and Madeline Dumas Curran. On Jan. 27, 1947 he married Katherine J. in Los Angeles, Calif. She died in 2003.

Mr. Curran was employed as a truck driver. He served in the Marines during World War II, achieving the rank of sergeant. He was a past commander of the VFW and a member of St. Katherine Catholic Church in Enterprise.

Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law Linda and Steve Testerman of Enterprise, grandson and granddaughter-in-law Tim and Laurie Testerman of Enterprise, grandson and granddaughter-in-law Jason and Leah Testerman of Oregon City and grandson and granddaughter-in-law Shane and Tia Testerman of LaCenter, Wash. and two great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife and son Michael.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Katherine Catholic Church on Dec. 21 at 11 a.m. Father Peter Fernando will officiate.

A burial will follow at Enterprise Cemetery. Mortuary arrangements are by Bollman Funeral Home.
