Richland, Baker County, Oregon

Rory Huff, 27, of Richland, died May 29, 2005, as a result of a motor vehicle accident on Eagle Creek Road.

There will be a celebration of his life at 2 p.m. Friday at the Richland Lions Community Park. Friends are invited to join the family for a potluck after the service.

Rory was born on Oct. 15, 1977, at Council, Idaho. Rory grew up at Richland, attended school at Pine-Eagle High School and Stanfield. He later was a 1996 graduate of Cambridge High School where he played football, basketball, baseball and participated in high school rodeo.

A man who loved the outdoors, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, rodeo and entertaining his family and friends with the gift of gab. He was a very caring person who went the extra mile and knew no stranger.

He was loved by all who knew him. He touched many lives with his generosity, kindness of spirit, wise soul, sense of fun and an intelligent wit.

Rory worked many jobs from Texas to Idaho as a logger, lineman, equipment operator and fiber optic inspector. He also did telephone construction for Cambridge Telephone, was a guide for Cornucopia pack station and was currently working in the family business Brooks Wholesale.

His family and friends will dearly miss Rory.

Survivors include his companion, Angie Tucker of Richland, Oregon; parents, Gordon Huff of Cambridge, Idaho; Gerri and Steve Brooks of Richland; brother, Paul, and his wife, Greta Brooks, of Richland and Ace and his wife, Theresa Huff, of Stanfield; grandparents, Jim and Bethel Huff of Halfway, Mary Koski of Sandpoint, Idaho, John and Glenda Sylvester of Sweet Home, and Stan and LaRue Brooks of Richland; his favorite niece and nephews, Marti, Trace, and Cutter Huff; his fishing and hunting companions, Darren and Greg; many aunts, uncles and cousins; and last, but not least, his canine companions, Millie and Cupid.

He was preceded in death by his grandpa, Roy Koski; and a cousin, Matt Halley.
