46. DANIEL BIRD7 b. Sept. 15, 1828; d. in New Mexico, May 8, 1865. He removed to California, Nov. 1849, and after a season settled in Sacramento City, where he remained till the breaking out of the Rebellion, when he received a Captain’s commission in the 1st Vet. Inf. Cal. Vols., and was drowned in the Rio Grande River by the sinking of a ferry-boat near Fort Craig New Mexico, while ferrying troops across the river. He m. Nov. 8, 1857, widow Caroline Eaton, of California, now living in Marblehead. No issue.
47. RUTH COOMBS7 b. Dec. 6, 1830; m. Oct. 7, 1856. Samuel N. Brown, of Boston, b. April 21, 1820.
