Oliver Todd of North Haven CT

Oliver Todd6, (Hezekiah5, Caleb4, Samuel3, Samuel2, Christopher1) born 1764, died Sept. 10, 1847, married Betsey, daughter of Thomas and Anna (Smith) Smith, who was born 1768, died Feb. 26, 1848. Her father was in the Revolutionary war. “He conducted a fire ship to the enemy and was badly burnt, the attending boat having left him too soon, he had to swim ashore, where he was found three days after in a helpless state. He was taken over to Rye, (N. Y.?) and there died.”
