  1. There is an old African-American cemetery in Cumberland County, VA that does not seem to be in any databases. It is on a farm in Cumberland Country, Virginia, address 158 Anderson Trail, right across the Appomattox River from Farmville. The farm has been owned by Andersons since around 1735 (the current owners are Anderson cousins). Prior to the Civil War, there were at least 30 enslaved people on the farm, and there is a cemetery for them located back behind the Anderson family cemetery on the property. The old slave cemetery has not been maintained, and I do not think there are any readable markers, although I have not looked myself.
