Alma Hearing of 423 Sac Annex, died Wed., August 30th, at the local hospital at the age of 63
Mrs. Hearing was born September 10, 1888 at San Francisco, Calif. the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John McCulloch. She moved with her family to Northeastern Oregon in 1889. On October 6, 1915 she was married to Merle V. Hearing at Enterprise. She lived most of her life in Wallowa and moved to La Grande in 1961. Hearing preceded his wife in death July 5, 1963. She was also preceded in death by one son, Harold Hearing on Oct. 3, 1966.
Mrs. Hearing was a member of Hope Chapter No. 13 Order of Eastern Star and the American Legion Auxiliary.
Survivors include a son, Ross Hearing of La Grande; a daughter Marie Sprague Zamzow, Joseph; a brother, John C. McCulloch, Creswell, Ore.; 5 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Fri., September 1, at 1:00 at Daniels Valley Funeral Chapel with Rev. Jack MacLeod officiating. Vault interment will follow at the Prairie Creek Cemetery at Joseph at 4:00.
