About New York Historical Manuscripts: Revolutionary Papers

This database is a collection of historical manuscripts relating to the Revolutionary War, derived from the New York Provincial Congress. This collection consists of documents such as the credentials of delegates, lists of persons who had signed or refused to sign the Association to sustain the Continental Congress and Provincial Convention, petitions, proceedings of the military committee, military returns, muster rolls, and other miscellaneous papers relating to the Congress. The manuscripts found in these volumes comprise those not previously published in the Journal of the New York Provincial Congress. The title and number of the manuscript volume and the page number on which the document is found are provided at the top of each document. This information makes the originals easy to find and consult. The documents were bound into sixteen volumes in 1822.
