This collection of death records from the state of Vermont covers the years 1981 through 2001. With over 100,000 entries, this database provides valuable information regarding recently deceased relatives and friends. Information provided in this index includes the full name of the deceased, their age, date of death, town and state of death, sex, race, marital status, birth date, state of birth, town and state of residence, and educational level. NOTE: Each entry may not contain all of this information.

Although comprehensive for the years 1981 through 2001, the researcher may need information regarding a relative not included in this database. For these persons, contact the Vermont Department of Health directly at Vital Records Section, P.O. Box 70, Burlington, VT 05402. The department has records from 1760 through the present, with the main records division holding records up to 10 years old.
