Stull, Mary Lorane Spivey Mrs. – Obituary

Mary Lorane Stull, 80, The Dalles, died Saturday, April 30, 2005, at her home.

There will a celebration of life gathering from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday at The Dalles Eagles Lodge, Seventh and Walnut streets.

She was born on May 17, 1924, at Baker City to Harvey and Edith Bryson Spivey. She married Ross G. Stull on Feb. 19, 1947. They lived in Oregon, Washington and Montana before settling into Fairbanks, Alaska, where they lived for 15 years.

Active in her community, she took part in the Fraternal Order of Eagles, the Loyal Order of Moose, and the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, holding offices in each. She ran a bingo supply business for several years before retiring and moving to The Dalles in 1984 to be closer to her children and grandchildren.

She enjoyed working in her yard and flower beds, playing bingo and pinochle, knitting and crocheting, and making her annual birthday trip to Reno to celebrate with her daughters.

Survivors include her husband, Ross of The Dalles; her daughters and their families, Anne and Ken Gronwald of Portland, Ellen and Bud Lord of Goldendale, Wash., and Jessie and Leo Kochis of The Dalles; grandchildren and their spouses, Karla and Carl Perry of Vancouver, Wash., Cindy and Jerry Eder of Elko, Nev., Jim and Kim Jordan of Seaside, Gregg Murphy of Portland, Michael and Liz Murphy of Azusa, Calif., Mark Lord and Mary Ellen Lord of Goldendale, Wash., Lee and Becky Kochis and Chris Kochis of The Dalles; 12 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Eddie Jordan; her great-grandson, Carl Thomas Dunn; and her great-great-granddaughter, Victoria Lynn Gassner.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of The Gorge, 751 Myrtle St., The Dalles, OR 97058. Columbia Cremation & Burial is in charge of arrangements.
